Crisis Averted

Hair crisis that is.

Two hair cuts...

Inches upon inches removed...

Three washes...

Three stylings...

Many tears...

and $$$ later, my hair was some what workable again.

What a Saturday.

My long, beautiful hair was a blank canvas that I had been growing out in order to do something amazing with it, and then I found my inspiration on Pinterest.

My inspiration...

...complete failure on my hair. I did not get a before and after, but trust me when I say hair cut #1 was BAD. My husband said, "It looks like a mullet!" He quickly followed it up with "it's not that bad." Sadly, he was right.

The only fix was to shell out the big bucks and go to a more experienced hair dresser. Oh and as a side note, in Houston, you can't get a hair cut any where for less than $50 (which I find outrageous), so having an "experienced" hairdressers = $$$. In the end, it was worth it.

A decent view of the recovered hair.

If only I had started with the experienced hairdresser, I think I could have had my inspired hair look.If you have ever had a bad hair cut experience, please share to make me feel better : )

Rocket Ships and Sandy Beaches

When my parents come to visit, we have a good ole time...

NASA- on the trolly

That's one big rocket!

After NASA we traveled down to the beach in Galveston. It was a little cold and rainy, but we still wanted to see the ocean.

The sky finally cleared up and the sun peeked out.

Finally, I will leave you with a peaceful photo. Ahh, makes me wish it was summer.

San Antone

Thank goodness for birthdays! For Jesse's bday weekend we and some friends went to San Antonio, TX. I love any excuse to travel and see something different.

I had been before, but I hadn't gone since I was in high school, so it was fun to revisit.

The Alamo.

The River Walk was packed. Apparently is was Mardi Gras weekend, a big rodeo was in town and a cheerleading competition was going on. Go figure.

Went to eat at a fun Mexican restaurant. Brittany is the only one curiously looking at our camera.

Us and our lovely friends, James and Brittany.

Hung out at the Mexican Farmers Market. Where I got some wonderful Mexican vanilla, so pumped to bake with it...and then eat the baked goods :)

Market stuff.

Jesse's.

Just a cool old building, but not as cool as the Alamo.

And finally we make it back to Houston just in time for my first NBA game. Watching the Houston Rockets. We won!
